Last felt in danger being driven around Barcelona by their so called taxi drivers last month and every time my bird drives!

Being driven from antalya to lara beach by one of the barmen in our hotel, who halfway through the night went a bit radio, must have dropped a pill or something. Had the heater on full blast, jungle music blaring and jumping red lights

When I was 21 getting Trained up in the Police.
We got a call to go an arrest someone who didnt show up for court and he lived in a Farm house in the middle of nowhere. Proper Bleak, Grey Day and pissing down.
So we turn up at the house and We started knocking on the door. We heard movement inside so my T.O. went around the back in case he legged it. I was just knocking on the door calling this blokes name when a Barrel of a Shotgun came through the letterbox which was in the bottom panel of the door. I only knew it was there because I felt the barrel sliding past my leg.
Two blasts later and feeling this burning pain on my leg, I Shit it all the way back to my car. The T.O. soon caught up with me. Fortunately he only had Blanks but even they could have cost me my leg...
Just as we got on the radio to ask for Armed Response, we got a call to say "Be careful, he has previous for Firearms offences".
We knew we had to keep an eye on him, so we couldnt leave the area but I never in my life wanted to be somewhere else more badly...

I'm a strong swimmer but got caught in a strong current some way off the beach in Bali. Properly thought I was going to drown for a couple of minutes. The local lifeguards just ignored me shouting for help.
I eventually made it back to the beach.
This was about 23 years ago but still remember it clearly.

Summer of '01 I guess.
My cousin & I were walking along an unlit country road several miles outside Ballydehob on way to my aunts house.
I was carrying a box of beer & my Pissed cousin was walking some 10 yards or so behind me talking all sorts of splendid Ballocks.
I passed what I thought was a demon like figure with bright eyes crouched down in the ditch by the side of the road. I was terrified.
The creature just stared @ me & I walked on.
I wasn't attacked but I wondered what would happen to my cousin. He kept talking rubbish & walked by where I estimated the demon would have been.
But then he called me.
He said did you see that fella in the ditch?
I remember saying I was hoping you wouldn't say that.
He said will we go back & help him?
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
This is exactly how every drunk imbecile gets killed in every horror movie I've ever seen. Sure why not go help the fucking demon in the ditch.
I didn't want to sound stupid & admit I was afraid so back we went.
He started talking to the figure.
He asked was he alright.
Did he need help?
All the time the creature stayed crouched down staring back at us with those bright eyes.
I was getting more frightened by this silent, ominous presence.
My cousin turned to me & said he's saying nothing.
I thought what did you expect. It's a malevolent demon that will kill us unless we get out of here.
My cousin started talking to the creature again.
Still no response.
After a little bit I remembered the small pen - light on my keys & after much effort managed to get them out of my pocket, whilst still managing to hold the box of beer which was amazing as my hands were shaking so much I should have dropped all the beers.
I managed to turn on the light & shone it straight into the face of the creature not more than 2 feet in front of me.
It was a fucking roadsign.
One of those roadwork ones with a car, loose chippings & bright headlights.
My kids love that story & they refer to that cousin of mine as the one who talks to roadsigns. But I still remember how absolutely terrified I was at the time.

Group of 12 of us were trekking up to Angel Falls in Venezuela in the Amazon jungle.
As we negotiated a path through the forest floor, taking in the wonders of the scenery, we could hear a bizarre vibration in the air. Slowly pulsing, slowly getting more intense.
The next thing we know some of the ladies holding up the back of the group start screaming and the lads at the front turned back to see them engulfed in a cloud of bees, so thick the forest had become instantly darker as they descended from the canopy.
The next thirty seconds was a blur of running back to pull the ladies from the bees, trying to brush them down and pull them out their hair as the natives advised us to simply.... RUN!
The group moved double time in a state of panic and we must have covered a good few hundred meters or so before some of us paused for breath.
I'll never forget the guides' (who were proper salt of the jungle folk) faces as we paused in a clearing. We must have took stock for merely a few seconds before they shrieked in terrifying broken english... "THEY'RE STILL COMING!!!"
....and we foxtrot oscared again!

When I got knocked off my bike last year. I was certain there was a lorry behind the one that hit me, so I knew I was going to squashed. It didn't happen in the fist second or so, so I dragged myself out of the road (using only my left hand) as I expected to pass out - which also didn't happen. I was shitting myself for a good few seconds though.

Being a white man in a suit in the back of an un-air-conditioned 'taxi' in southern Trinidad and going through a town which consisted of basically unemployed local Trinidadians drinking and getting stoned on the streets whilst looking through the window at me en masse as we came to a halt at a junction. Hyderabad that was.

My taxi driver taking me from Phnom Penh to Siem Riep in Cambodia ran someone over in a small village on route.
This lead to him getting arrested.
Me and my mate were stranded in this remote village, with him out of his nut on valium, refusing to pay a futher cab fare as we'd already paid the now arrested driver.
That was pretty hairy.

It was relatively dangerous for the toilet attendant in Browns at Tower bridge to be honest. Any anyone going into the toilet for about 15 minutes after me.
